Terms of Service
Last updated: August 14, 2026
Welcome to Haullo, a Halloween game operated by Hauler LLC ("Hauler," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding legal agreement between you and Hauler LLC that governs your use of the Haullo mobile app and website (the "Service").
Please read these Terms carefully. They include important information about purchases and refunds (Section 6), the limits of our responsibility (Section 10), and how disputes are handled (Section 11).
How you accept these Terms
You accept these Terms when you check the box or tap the button labeled "I Agree" (or similar) during sign-up. By doing that, you are telling us that you have read these Terms and intend to be legally bound by them. If a parent or guardian is setting up or approving an account for a child, the parent or guardian accepts these Terms on the child's behalf and on their own behalf (see Section 1).
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not check "I Agree" and do not use the Service.
1. Who can use Haullo
Haullo is a game intended for children, teens, and families.
Children under 13. If a user is under 13, they may use the Service only after a parent or guardian has provided verifiable consent through our consent process, as described in our Privacy Policy. Until that consent is completed, the account stays inactive.
Parent and guardian responsibility. If you are a parent or guardian who sets up, approves, or allows a child to use the Service, then:
- You are entering into these Terms on behalf of yourself and your child;
- You agree that your child will use the Service in accordance with these Terms;
- You are responsible for supervising your child's use of the Service and for activity that occurs under the child's account, including any purchases (see Section 6); and
- You confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and have the authority to agree to these Terms for the child.
A note about minors and agreements. The law recognizes that people under 18 may, in some situations, cancel ("disaffirm") agreements they enter into. Nothing in these Terms takes away any right a minor or their parent has under applicable law. Our purpose in asking a parent or guardian to agree on a child's behalf is to make sure a responsible adult is involved—not to waive anyone's legal rights.
2. Your account
- Keep your username and password secure, and don't share your account.
- Provide accurate information, including a valid parent or guardian email address where we require one.
- You (and, for a child, the supervising parent or guardian) are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- Tell us promptly at support@haullo.app if you think your account has been used without permission.
3. Community rules
To keep Haullo fun and safe, you agree not to:
- Post content that is inappropriate, harmful, hateful, sexual, violent, or otherwise unsafe for children;
- Harass, bully, impersonate, or threaten others;
- Cheat, manipulate scores, or upload photos that aren't your own real candy haul;
- Share other people's private information;
- Break the law, or try to disrupt, hack, or reverse-engineer the Service.
We screen content automatically and let users report or block content and accounts. We may remove content, or suspend or terminate accounts, that violate these Terms.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, videos, and other content you create ("Your Content"). By posting Your Content, you grant Hauler LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, screen, and share it within the Service as needed to operate the features you choose to use (for example, the neighborhood map and leaderboards), consistent with our Privacy Policy.
If you (or, for a child, a verified parent or guardian) opt in, you also grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to retain and use your candy-haul photos and the counts you confirm to train and improve our candy-recognition technology, as described in our Privacy Policy. We apply this only with that opt-in, keep those photos only until that training is complete, and end this use—deleting those photos—when you withdraw the opt-in or delete your account.
This license lasts only as long as Your Content is on the Service. When you delete a piece of content, or delete your account, the license for that content ends and we stop using it, except for copies that are required by law or that remain temporarily in routine backups.
5. Scoring & gameplay
Candy hauls are scored using AI vision. Scores, badges, points, and leaderboard standings are part of a game, are provided "as is," and have no cash or monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money. We may adjust gameplay, scoring, and features to keep the game fair and fun.
6. In-app purchases and refunds
Haullo has a single in-game currency, coins. Coins can be earned by playing, and can also be bought in packs ("Purchases"). Coins are what unlock optional extras inside the game; there is no subscription and no separate paid tier.
Purchases by anyone under 18 require a parent or guardian. If you are under 18, you may make Purchases only with the permission and involvement of your parent or guardian. By making a Purchase, you confirm that you are an adult or that your parent or guardian has approved it.
How Purchases are processed. Purchases are handled through the Apple App Store or Google Play using the payment method on file with those stores. Apple's and Google's own terms, billing rules, and refund policies also apply to your Purchase, and in many cases refunds are requested directly through them.
When Purchases are final—and when they aren't. All Purchases are final once completed, unless a refund is required by law or is provided under these Terms. In particular, the law in many places—including California—allows a person under 18 (or their parent or guardian) to cancel certain purchases made by that minor. So:
- If a Purchase was made by a user under 18 without the permission of their parent or guardian, the parent, guardian, or user may ask us to cancel it and refund it.
- To request a refund for a Purchase made by a minor, contact us at support@haullo.app with the account username and the approximate date and amount of the Purchase. We maintain a process specifically for reviewing and, where appropriate, refunding eligible Purchases made by minors.
- You may also be able to request a refund directly through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Managing and turning off Purchases. Parents and guardians can control or disable in-app purchases through their device's built-in parental controls (for example, Screen Time on iOS or parental controls on Google Play), and through any purchase controls we provide in the app.
7. Parental controls & consent
For accounts belonging to children, a linked parent or guardian can review the information we've collected, request its deletion, refuse further collection, manage purchase settings, and unlink or close the account. Details are in our Privacy Policy and available in the app or by contacting privacy@haullo.app.
8. Safety & trick-or-treating
Haullo is a game, not a safety tool. Always follow local laws and use common-sense safety when trick-or-treating, and supervise children as appropriate. We are not responsible for offline activities, including anything that happens while trick-or-treating or traveling between houses.
9. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see Delete Your Data). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or where needed to protect users or the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination—such as Sections 4 (content), 5 (no cash value), 6 (purchases/refunds), 10 (disclaimers and liability), and 11 (governing law and disputes)—will continue to apply.
10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hauler LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including, where applicable, liability to consumers and minors.
11. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where the law of the user's home state provides protections that apply regardless.
Let's try to resolve things directly first. If you have a problem, please contact us at support@haullo.app so we can try to resolve it. Most issues can be handled quickly this way.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date, provide notice where appropriate, and—because updated terms only bind you if you actually agree to them—we may ask you (or the supervising parent or guardian) to review and accept the new Terms before continuing to use affected features. For non-material changes, continued use after the update means you accept the change.
